In the morning of 26 September 2009, the 10th anniversary ceremony of the Faculty of Business Administration was held solemnly in Hall D201, Foreign Trade University.
The Ceremony was participated by FTU’s President – Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Chau, Vice President – Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Quy, Vice President – Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hong and Vice President & Director of Hochiminh City Campus – Prof. Dr. Bui Ngoc Son, Prof. Dr. Vu Chi Loc – Chairman of University Council, and former FTU’s President – Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Mo; Director of VJCC Hanoi – Mr. Kohiyama and many distinguished guests from all faculties and functional departments of FTU, businesses, organizations and partners of the Faculty of Business Administration, lecturers of Faculty of Business Administration and many students and alumni of the Faculty.
On behalf of the lecturers and students of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dean Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy addressed a welcome speech. In her speech, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy briefed the development and the initial achievements in all activities of the Faculty over the last 10 years. Inheriting and developing from the tradition and reputation of the FTU’s training and researching activities, combined with its dynamics and capabilities, the Faculty of Business Administration positively contributed to supplying high quality human resources for the economic development of the country.
Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy emphasized: “10 years were not a very long time but well enough to confirm the growth, maturity and the initial success of the Faculty of Business Administration. With its youth, dynamics and enthusiasm of all lecturers and students of the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty commits that it will continue to promote the achievements gained in the teaching and researching, to focus on improving qualifications for lecturers, to engage more actively in researching, writing textbooks and reference materials, and to cooperate with local and international partners, especially with the business community. We will strive to make the Faculty become one of the most prestigious training centers in the business administration field in Vietnam in all bachelor, master and doctorate levels”.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Chau – President of FTU gave the welcoming speech and emphasized that the foundation of the Faculty of Business Administration marked an important point in the history of FTU which is the turn from a single-disciplined educational institution into a multi-disciplined one in economic fields. The President stressed the significant development of the Faculty in the past 10 years and expressed the hope that the Faculty will strive harder in the future to remain one of the largest and most important faculties in FTU.

Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy on behalf of generations of lecturers and students of the Faculty presented flowers to thank the FTU’s Management Board, and the Faculty’s former leaders. She also presented flowers to thank the Faculty’s business partners (ACCA, GAET, CPA Australia, AFTC…) for the trustworthiness and cooperation during the past time.
On the occasion of this rally ceremony, ACCA and AFTC awarded scholarships to students with hardship but obtaining good academic results. Besides, on behalf of the Faculty of Business Administration’s alumni association, Mr. Le Xuan Thuy presented flowers and souvenirs to thank lecturers and awarded scholarships for the outstanding students in the Faculty. The total value of the granted scholarships amounted to nearly VND 60 million.
The ceremony ended with the delight and excitement of lecturers and students of the Faculty. All the lecturers and students of the Faculty determined clearly and enthusiastically that they will build the Faculty to become stronger in the future.
