EMBA CONFERENCE 2023: HOW TO IMPROVE TRAINING QUALITY

On October 29, 2023, the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Graduate Training of Foreign Trade University co-hosted the EMBA 2023 Senior Executive Master’s Conference. The event aimed to review and assess the implementation of the executive master’s training program (EMBA) over the past decade. The conference also addressed issues pertaining to enhancing and innovating the quality of training and educational programs in order to attain AUN-QA accreditation, the esteemed accreditation standard of Southeast Asia’s premier university. Furthermore, the conference provided a crucial platform for fostering connections among students, lecturers, academic institutions, and businesses.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, President of Foreign Trade University, delivered a speech at the conference. Also present from the FTU were Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the FTU; Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the School Council; Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thu Huong, Vice President of the FTU; Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien, Vice President of the FTU; Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Van Nghia, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Training; Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thai Phong, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; as well as heads and deputy heads of various other FTU departments, academic staff, and students. The event also welcomed guests from Trade Union University, Viettel Telecommunications Group, Master Tran Joint Stock Company, EMBA Club, and students and alumni of the EMBA program.

Since its inception in 2016, the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program at FTU has garnered active engagement from students, faculty, and industry partners. The program is designed to impart contemporary expertise in economics and management, as well as furnish students with a diverse set of practical skills essential for navigating today’s competitive and dynamic business landscape. The EMBA curriculum comprises 10 courses (from EMBA1 to EMBA8B) and has seen close to 400 EMBA graduates assume key leadership roles in corporations, businesses, and organizations both in Vietnam and globally.

During the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, the President of FTU, highly appreciated the collaboration in developing and implementing the EMBA training program of the Faculty of Graduate Training and the Faculty of Business Administration. Specifically, he highlighted the enhancements and innovations aimed at enhancing practicality and application in each subject to elevate the overall training quality of the program. The educational philosophy is “Towards liberalization, associated with practice, nurturing honesty, responsibility and creative capacity,” with the guiding principle of “Be different to lead” and core values “Creativity – Excellence; Responsibility – Bravery, Diversity – Harmony”. The Executive Master’s Program (EMBA) holds a crucial position among FTU’s postgraduate training initiatives, focusing on preparing students for leadership and senior management roles in corporations, unions, businesses, or professional management consulting. To realize this objective, the University advocates for closer collaboration among the Faculty of Graduate Training, the Faculty of Business Administration, and other academic units to continually refine and innovate the program. This entails enhancing training quality, aligning the EMBA program with real-world scenarios, emphasizing practicality, and fostering a strong network within the EMBA community.
