FTU HOSTS NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “INNOVATION IN CORPORATE MANAGEMENT IN VIETNAM”

On October 18, the National Conference on “Innovation in Corporate Management in Vietnam” took place at Foreign Trade University (FTU), Hanoi, attracting a wide range of participants, including representatives from organizations, businesses, faculty members, researchers, and students. The conference was co-organized by FTU, the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, the Enterprise Development Institute under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the National Innovation Center (NIC), Viettel Group, and FPT Corporation.

The event gathered over 100 authors from various ministries, research institutes, and universities across Vietnam, with 47 research papers submitted for discussion.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đào Ngọc Tiến, Vice President of FTU, emphasized that in today’s rapidly changing global economy, Vietnamese enterprises are facing both opportunities and challenges. Digital transformation, the trend of sustainable development, and market fluctuations are driving businesses to innovate not only in products and services but also in corporate governance. While traditional management models have contributed significantly to business growth, they must adapt and evolve to meet current market demands and align with the country’s overall development.

Recognizing the importance of management innovation, FTU has actively collaborated with businesses in research, training, and knowledge transfer in corporate governance. The university aims to create a platform for experts, managers, and business leaders to exchange insights, discuss challenges, and explore innovative management models. This conference provides an opportunity to learn from scientific research and practical business experiences, drawing lessons and solutions applicable to Vietnam’s context.

Mr. Phạm Đức Thái, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, emphasized that the conference is not only an occasion to review the transformation of Vietnamese businesses in the era of global integration but also an opportunity to discuss advanced and effective management trends. In the age of digitalization and sustainable development, corporate governance innovation and technology adoption have become decisive factors for business survival and growth. He also highlighted that in a globalized economy, corporate management reform is not merely a competitive advantage but a foundation for sustainable development.

This commitment is reflected in the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 2021-2030 Socio-Economic Development Strategy, which promote economic growth driven by productivity, scientific progress, technological innovation, and a high-quality workforce.

ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION: “FLEXIBLE MANAGEMENT VS. INNOVATIVE MANAGEMENT IN THE VUCA ERA”

The roundtable discussion provided a comprehensive view of the necessity of corporate management innovation and the challenges businesses face in today’s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment. Participants, including scholars, business leaders, and students, actively engaged in insightful discussions on strategies for enterprises to adapt and thrive.

The Foreign Trade University, along with its industry partners and academic contributors, aims for the conference to make meaningful contributions to strengthening corporate governance and enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises. The insights and discussions presented at the conference are expected to shape future management strategies and policies that will drive business innovation and economic growth in Vietnam.
