On December 15, 2024, students of the Advanced Program in Business Administration – Cohort 60 (CTTT K60) at the Faculty of Business Administration had the opportunity to attend a special guest lecture by Ms. Đỗ Hồng Hạnh, Co-Founder & CEO of Buyo Bioplastics. The session was part of the International Business and Management course taught by Professor Mark Nguyễn from California State University, Fullerton, USA.

Insights on Entrepreneurship and Global Business Mindset

The session aimed to provide students with in-depth insights into entrepreneurship in an increasingly integrated business landscape and the importance of a global mindset.

Ms. Đỗ Hồng Hạnh shared her experiences in founding and growing Buyo Bioplastics, a company specializing in eco-friendly bioplastic products. Her vision is to reduce carbon footprints and position Buyo Bioplastics as a leading bioplastics supplier in Vietnam and globally.

During her talk, she discussed key challenges and opportunities in entrepreneurship, including:

  • Securing funding for a startup
  • Building a strong team
  • Expanding into international markets such as the United States and Japan

Buyo Bioplastics – A Rising Innovator in Sustainable Materials

Founded in September 2022, Buyo Bioplastics has achieved significant milestones, including:

  • Champion of Techfest Vietnam 2023
  • Winner of a $15,000 prize at the 100+ Accelerator competition by AB InBev
  • Investment commitment from Antler (Singapore), supporting the company from ideation to growth

Currently, Buyo operates a manufacturing facility in Ho Chi Minh City. In the coming year, the company plans to scale up production by constructing a new facility ten times larger than the existing one.
