Round 1 of the International Quant Championship (IQC) 2026 has officially concluded with remarkable achievements by students of Foreign Trade University on the international Quant stage.
As IQC continues to grow into a global competition that brings together outstanding students in Quantitative Finance, Data Science, and AI applications in finance, Foreign Trade University students have demonstrated strong competitiveness, a breakthrough mindset, and exceptional adaptability in a highly competitive international academic environment.
In the Global IQC University Rankings, Foreign Trade University achieved outstanding results:
#1 in Vietnam
#13 in Asia
#15 Globally
Notably, Foreign Trade University had eight teams ranked among the top-performing groups, with BP51005 and BON QUA TAO emerging as the leading teams.
Beyond ranking achievements, IQC 2026 also witnessed significant growth in both the scale and quality of participation from Foreign Trade University students compared to 2025:
• 657 individual student registrations
• 570 official competition teams
• 255 accounts achieving at least 1 Alpha
• 151 participants scoring over 10,000 points
• 152 teams advancing from Round 1 to Stage 2 – the National Round
Most impressively, the number of teams advancing past Round 1 increased from 61 teams in 2025 to 152 teams in 2026—an almost 2.5-fold increase in just one year.
In addition:
Hanoi Campus recorded 135 teams advancing to the next round.
Ho Chi Minh City Campus recorded 15 teams advancing to the next round.
Quang Ninh Campus recorded 2 teams advancing, achieving a 100% qualification rate.
If 2025 marked the year when Foreign Trade University students began actively engaging with the international Quant community, then 2026 represents a significant leap forward in professional expertise, data-driven thinking, and global competitiveness.
Today’s achievements not only reflect the dedication and perseverance of the participating teams but also demonstrate their willingness to challenge themselves, step beyond their comfort zones, and compete in academic arenas that meet international standards.
Congratulations to all teams for successfully overcoming the first challenge of IQC 2026. While many challenges still lie ahead, Foreign Trade University students are steadily establishing their presence on the global Quant map through their intelligence, resilience, and ambition to reach further.
