FEATURED ALUMNA: FTU ADVANCED PROGRAM IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AS A LAUNCHPAD FOR BECOMING A GLOBAL CITIZEN

From a background in economics to the field of technology, Dang Ngoc Huyen, an alumna of Cohort 57 of the Advanced Program in Business Administration at Foreign Trade University, has continuously challenged herself to expand her own limits and pursue opportunities in international environments.

She is currently a Research Coordinator at The University of Melbourne, Australia, a Study Melbourne Ambassador 2026 appointed by the Victorian Government, and was previously recognized as an FSOFT Stars 2023 honoree, representing the top 2% of outstanding individuals globally.

When asked about the most valuable thing she gained from the FTU Advanced Program in Business Administration, Huyen shared:

“That would be the lecturers, friends, and high-quality relationships.”

At the FTU Advanced Program in Business Administration, Huyen was not only equipped with professional knowledge but also had the opportunity to develop leadership skills and personal growth through student activities, most notably serving as President of FBA Elite, Term VII.

For Huyen, the core values of Foreign Trade University — Creativity, Excellence, Responsibility, Courage, Diversity, and Harmony — have become an important foundation in shaping her mindset, attitude, and approach to new opportunities.

“Foreign Trade University does not only train students with strong professional expertise, but also nurtures global citizens who know how to adapt, contribute, and continuously learn.”

This learning and development environment helped Huyen gain the confidence to study, conduct research, and work in international settings. It also inspired her to continue pursuing mentoring activities, gender equality initiatives, and efforts to support women in technology.

Sharing a message with future generations of FTU students, Huyen said:

“Be proactive in challenging yourself and make the most of learning, extracurricular, and networking opportunities. Knowledge is the foundation, but a learning mindset, perseverance, and the courage to try are what truly help you make a difference.”

Dang Ngoc Huyen’s journey is a testament to the role of an open and internationally oriented educational environment, where students are equipped with knowledge, global mindset, and the confidence to grow across different fields. From the experiences gained at the FTU Advanced Program in Business Administration, each student can gradually build their own path and prepare to become a global citizen in the future.
