STANDARD BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM: A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR YOUR UNIVERSITY JOURNEY AND FUTURE CAREER

Following the National High School Graduation Examination, choosing the right university, academic program, and field of study becomes an important decision for many students. Among the many available options, prospective students often need to balance their interests, strengths, financial considerations, and long-term career aspirations.

The Standard Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Business Administration, Foreign Trade University, is one of the University’s longest-established undergraduate programs and has been accredited under the AUN-QA quality assurance framework. The program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in business administration while fostering academic excellence, practical competencies, and well-defined career development throughout their university journey.

A Long-Established, Reputable Program Accredited by AUN-QA

As one of Foreign Trade University’s flagship undergraduate programs, the Standard Business Administration Program offers students the opportunity to learn from highly qualified faculty members and study a curriculum benchmarked against leading domestic and international programs, including FTU’s High-Quality Program, Advanced Program, and the Business Administration curriculum at the University of Leeds (United Kingdom).

Instruction in Vietnamese enables students to build a solid understanding of business concepts and confidently engage in academic discussions. Meanwhile, English proficiency is continuously strengthened through coursework, academic materials, student clubs, competitions, and practical learning experiences.

A Dynamic and Practice-Oriented Learning Environment

The Faculty of Business Administration provides more than a traditional classroom experience. Throughout the program, students actively engage in business case analyses, classroom discussions, collaborative projects, and real-world problem solving that bridge theory and practice.

Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to participate in scientific research, academic competitions, extracurricular activities, entrepreneurship initiatives, industry projects, and student organizations. These experiences help cultivate leadership, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and adaptability—essential competencies for today’s business environment.

Experienced and Dedicated Faculty Members

The Faculty of Business Administration is home to a team of accomplished academics with extensive experience in teaching, research, and industry practice.

One notable example is Associate Professor Nguyen Thi Hoa Hong from the Department of Financial Management and Statistical Analysis. She has received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions, including the First Prize for the 2024 Young Lecturer Science and Technology Award, the Creative Youth Badge, and recognition as a promising nominee for the 2024 Khue Van Cac Award. She has led and participated in numerous national, ministerial, and university-level research projects, authored and co-authored many international and domestic publications, and successfully supervised students receiving scientific research awards at the ministerial level.

Beyond teaching, faculty members actively mentor students in scientific research, academic competitions, career planning, and industry engagement, helping them maximize their potential and confidently prepare for their future careers.

Five Specialized Tracks for Career Development

During the first two years, students build a comprehensive foundation across key business disciplines, including marketing, finance, human resource management, operations, and strategic management. Rather than studying these areas in isolation, students gain an integrated understanding of how different business functions work together to create organizational value.

Beginning in the third year, students choose one of five specialization tracks aligned with their interests and career goals:

  • International Business Administration
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • Communication Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Service Management

This curriculum structure allows students sufficient time to explore their interests, gain practical experience, and make informed decisions about their professional direction.

International Learning Opportunities

The university experience extends well beyond the classroom through short-term international exchange programs in various countries around the world. These opportunities allow students to study in multicultural environments, experience different teaching methodologies, and connect with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

International exposure broadens students’ perspectives, strengthens intercultural competence, and develops the confidence needed to succeed in global academic and professional settings.

A Strong Alumni Network

The Faculty of Business Administration is supported by an extensive alumni network whose members work across a wide range of industries, including finance, technology, marketing, human resources, entrepreneurship, and management, both in Vietnam and internationally.

Many alumni remain actively engaged with the Faculty by returning as guest speakers, participating in seminars, mentoring students, and facilitating internship and career opportunities. These interactions enable students to learn from experienced professionals, expand their professional networks, and gain valuable insights into their future careers.

The Standard Business Administration Program offers not only a comprehensive academic experience but also access to a lifelong professional community that supports students throughout their academic and career development.
