As part of the FTU–UQ Business Hackathon 2026, themed “Reducing Air Pollution in Hanoi with AI,” students from the iHons Advanced Program in International Business and Business Data Analytics visited the headquarters of FPT Corporation, one of Vietnam’s leading technology groups. The visit was integrated into the academic program to strengthen the connection between academic knowledge, innovation, and real-world business practice.
During the visit, students explored how emerging technologies are developed and applied in a corporate environment, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital platforms. These discussions provided students with practical insights into how technology-based solutions are researched, developed, and implemented to address real-world challenges at both organizational and societal levels.
Ms. Phan Thi Thu Ha, Human Resources Director at FPT Smart Cloud, shared insights into the corporate working environment, talent development in the technology sector, and the capabilities required as AI becomes increasingly integrated into business operations.
Students also had the opportunity to exchange with Mr. Vu Anh Duc, Deputy Director of the Digital Platform and Identity Center, gaining a closer look at how a technology idea can be transformed into a practical solution—from identifying a problem and developing an initial concept to evaluating feasibility and the value created for users and society.
The corporate visit enabled students to broaden their understanding of emerging technologies and business operations while connecting what they learn in the classroom with the demands of the real-world business environment. These insights will also support students in further developing and refining AI-powered solutions to address air pollution in Hanoi during the upcoming stages of the Hackathon.
Integrating corporate experiences into academic learning and project-based activities is an important approach to developing students’ problem-solving skills, interdisciplinary thinking, innovation capabilities, and ability to apply knowledge in practice. It also contributes to strengthening the connection between Foreign Trade University and the business community.
