EVENT RECAP: EVENT BLUEPRINT – PEOPLE, FINANCE & RISK

On May 5, students of the Event Management course under the Standard Business Administration Program K62, led by M.A. Nguyen Mai Anh, had the opportunity to welcome Ms. Duong Thuy Van – Deputy General Director of FF Agency, for an inspiring and insightful sharing session.

With the theme “Event Blueprint: People, Finance & Risk,” the session offered students practical and multidimensional perspectives on the event management industry. Drawing from nearly 20 years of professional experience, Ms. Van shared behind the scenes stories, valuable career lessons, and real-life situations event organizers often encounter, from team management and budget control to stakeholder coordination and risk management planning.

The session became even more engaging through an interactive Kahoot activity featuring thought-provoking questions, allowing students not only to review concepts learned in class but also to place themselves in real decision-making scenarios. Through these activities, students gained a deeper understanding that a successful event is not only built on creativity or impressive stage performances but also on careful planning, effective resource coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to respond flexibly to unexpected situations.

One particularly memorable moment came at the end of the session, when a student asked Ms. Van: “If you could say one thing to yourself back when you were still a university student like us, what would it be?” In response, she shared Walt Disney’s famous quote: “Whatever you do, do it well.” Though simple, the message left a lasting impression on many students, reminding them that regardless of the path they choose, what truly matters is approaching everything with dedication, sincerity, and wholehearted effort.

The session concluded in a reflective and inspiring atmosphere, giving students a clearer vision of the event industry, a field that requires not only creativity but also resilience, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility in every detail.
