[RECAP] CORPORATE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT COURSE AND THE STORY OF “BOND & STOCK VALUATION” WITH GUEST SPEAKER VU DUY KHANH AND K62 HIGH-QUALITY BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION STUDENTS

On December 5, K62 High-Quality Business Administration students, within the Corporate Financial Management course, joined a special session with Mr. Vu Duy Khanh—Director of the Analysis Center at Smart Invest Securities JSC (ASS)—on the topic “Bond and Stock Valuation”. Grounded in real market practices, his sharing made the session particularly engaging, energizing the classroom atmosphere while sparking students’ interest and curiosity to further explore career opportunities in the finance sector.

A few key highlights from the session: The importance of valuation:
Mr. Khanh helped students understand why valuation is considered a foundation for assessing bonds and stocks—especially when determining a reasonable price, comparing it with market price, and making well-grounded investment decisions.

Common valuation methods: Familiar approaches were presented clearly, accompanied by practical examples that helped students visualize how the market establishes the value of different types of bonds and stocks.

Common mistakes in valuation: From relying on unsupported assumptions and using inconsistent data to misjudging risk, Mr. Khanh pointed out several common “pitfalls”, enabling students to take a more comprehensive and in-depth approach to valuation problems.

This topic is also one of the most practical and compelling components of the Corporate Financial Management course, closely connected with other knowledge areas such as the time value of money and financial statement analysis. This linkage helps students connect real-world contexts with theories learned in class, thereby strengthening their understanding and improving their ability to apply concepts coherently to financial problems.

The session concluded with many valuable takeaways and practical perspectives for students. It is hoped that the real-world insights and the spirit of learning demonstrated throughout the session will motivate K62 students to continue exploring, learning, and expanding their knowledge in the dynamic and fascinating field of corporate financial management.
