Tran Dieu Linh, an alumna of Cohort K58 of the Standard Business Administration Program, exemplifies the versatility of the program. After working as a Human Resources Executive at Asilla Vietnam Technology, she was awarded the prestigious Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP) to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Reflecting on the strengths of studying Business Administration, Dieu Linh shared:
“The greatest advantage of a Business Administration degree is its flexibility. Rather than focusing on one specific discipline, the program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of how businesses operate. This enables graduates to pursue various career paths, including Human Resources, Marketing, Business Development, Operations, Consulting, and Project Management.”
She also emphasized that while a university degree opens the first door, long-term success depends on continuous learning, practical experience, and personal capabilities.
“A degree helps you step through the first door, but it is your experience and competencies that determine how far you can go.”
Sharing her advice with prospective university students, Dieu Linh believes that university should not be viewed as a competition to determine who is the best, but rather as an opportunity to discover one’s interests, strengths, and aspirations. Exploring new opportunities and even changing directions when discovering a better fit are all valuable parts of personal growth.
“Don’t be afraid to try new things, and don’t hesitate to change direction when you discover something that suits you better. Every experience helps you grow and better understand yourself. By the time you graduate, what truly sets you apart is not simply your degree, but the person you have become after four years at university.
