Digital Human Resource Management and Organization Development (Digital HRM & OD): Preparing Future Talent for the Digital Era

As digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) continue to reshape the way organizations operate, the field of human resource management is undergoing significant changes. Organizations increasingly require professionals who not only understand people but are also capable of leveraging data, applying technology, and leading organizational transformation.

To meet these emerging demands, the Faculty of Business Administration, Foreign Trade University, has developed the Digital Human Resource Management and Organization Development (Digital HRM & OD) program to educate a new generation of professionals capable of integrating people, data, technology, and organizational development within modern business environments.

The program is built upon three core competency pillars.

The first pillar is Modern Human Resource Management, covering talent attraction and recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, labor relations, and strategic human resource management. This foundation enables students to understand how organizations attract, develop, and retain talent in alignment with long-term business strategies.

The second pillar focuses on Digital Technology, Data, and AI in Human Resource Management. Students study Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Digital Human Resource Management, HR Analytics, Digital Transformation Strategy, AI and Automation Applications in HRM, and Employee Experience Management. These subjects help students develop a data-driven and evidence-based management mindset.

The third pillar is Organization Development, Leadership, and Change Management. Courses such as Organization and Job Design, Corporate Culture in the Digital Era, Change Management, Organizational Innovation, and Cross-Cultural Management equip students with the capabilities needed to design, transform, and develop organizations in rapidly changing environments.

The program is delivered entirely in English and follows an international orientation, enabling students to develop the competencies required to work effectively in multicultural environments and compete in the global labor market.

A distinctive feature of the program is its co-teaching model, which brings together domestic and international faculty members, technology experts, Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs), and organization development specialists. This combination of academic knowledge and industry expertise provides students with diverse perspectives on contemporary management challenges.

In addition, the program adopts a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach, allowing students to engage in real-world projects and business cases, practice on ERP and HRIS platforms, and strengthen critical competencies such as critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and emotional intelligence.

Upon graduation, students may pursue a wide range of career opportunities, including HR specialist or manager, HR data analyst, organization development specialist, HR technology specialist, HR consultant, or researcher in the field of human resource management.

Supported by a comprehensive ecosystem of industry partnerships, mentoring programs, company visits, academic competitions, and professional networking opportunities, the Digital HRM & OD program aims to develop future managers and organization builders capable of driving innovation and sustainable growth in the digital age.
