“THE GREATEST VALUE OF FOREIGN TRADE UNIVERSITY LIES IN ITS ABILITY TO TRANSFORM ITS STUDENTS.” — Pham Minh Quang, K51 Business Administration, Founder & CEO of Tomorrow Marketers

No one begins their journey as the best version of themselves, and Pham Minh Quang is no exception. Before becoming the Founder & CEO of Tomorrow Marketers Academy and building an impressive career with multinational corporations, he was simply a rather shy mathematics-track high school student with limited English proficiency, stepping into an academic program conducted almost entirely in English at Foreign Trade University (FTU).

Looking back, what he appreciates most is not a particular achievement but the environment FTU provided—one that constantly challenged him to grow. As he shared, FTU transformed him through countless everyday experiences: delivering presentations in English, collaborating on team projects, participating in student activities, learning alongside highly motivated peers, and embracing opportunities that pushed him beyond his comfort zone. These experiences gradually shaped his confidence, adaptability, and global mindset—qualities that have accompanied him throughout his career.

To him, Business Administration is far more than a program designed to train future managers. It provides students with a holistic understanding of how businesses operate. Marketing develops an understanding of customers, strategy offers a long-term perspective, human resource management deepens knowledge of people and organizations, while courses on operations and entrepreneurship demonstrate how business ideas can be transformed into sustainable organizations.

Although these concepts may initially seem academic, they proved invaluable when Minh Quang launched his own startup during his final year at university. Starting with almost nothing, he believes that what gave him confidence was not only the courage to take risks but also the strong managerial foundation he had built at FTU. Courses in marketing, strategy, human resource management, organizational development, and international business equipped him with a structured understanding of how to build and manage a real business.

After graduation, his professional journey continued through organizations such as Unilever, NielsenIQ, and Ogilvy. Each experience broadened his perspectives on branding, market research, consumer insights, and data analytics. Despite working across different industries, his Business Administration background remained a constant foundation, enabling him to continuously learn, adapt, and expand into emerging fields such as Business Analytics, artificial intelligence, and technology-driven management.

One quote that has stayed with him throughout his journey is: “An empty cup always has room to be filled.” This philosophy reflects the mindset he developed at FTU—the willingness to keep learning and to embrace every experience as an opportunity for personal growth.

If you are currently questioning whether you are confident enough, uncertain about your future, or wondering whether you are already the best version of yourself, Minh Quang’s story offers a simple yet meaningful reminder: very few people enter university knowing exactly who they will become. What matters more is choosing an environment that helps you grow every single day.

Sometimes, a decision made at the age of eighteen becomes the starting point of a journey far greater than you could ever imagine. Believe in your choice—because today’s decision may become the very first step toward a future that is uniquely yours.
